Their second chance starts with all of us.
Wiregrass Pets Rescue and Adoption Center was built on the belief that caring for the animals of our community takes a community.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and open-intake shelter contracted to serve the City of Dothan and designated areas of Houston County, our doors are here for the animals who need us. Every day, dogs and cats arrive lost, abandoned, injured, surrendered, scared, or simply in need of somewhere safe to land.
Membership is one way you can make sure we’re here when they arrive.
By becoming a member of Wiregrass Pets, you’re joining a community of people who believe local animals deserve safety, compassion, and a second chance.
Your membership provides dependable support for the work happening inside our shelter every single day—from food, supplies, veterinary care and enrichment to adoption, foster and rescue programs, humane education, reunification efforts, and everything it takes to care for the animals who come through our doors.
Choose How You Give:

Not ready for a recurring membership? You can still be part of the mission with a one-time contribution.
There isn’t a “small” way to be part of this work. Ten dollars a month multiplied by a community of people who care can become food in bowls, vaccines, clean kennels, enrichment, foster supplies, transportation, medical care, and another opportunity for an animal to find their way home.
This is your shelter. These are our community’s animals. And this work belongs to all of us.
