I can’t remember a time when dogs and cats were not a part of my family. They played a significant role in family activities and left us with some of our fondest memories. They gave unconditional love and asked so little in return.

Later in life it occurred to me that all dogs, cats, and families did not have the same experience and opportunity that my family pets did. This thought led to seeking means to support community efforts to help Wiregrass pet owners and their pets. The Wiregrass Spay and Neuter Alliance, a nonprofit that provides low cost services, was one effort.

Now the time has come for the Wiregrass to build a modern, state-of-the-art animal shelter to provide a safe, humane, and compassionate environment which will facilitate finding loving, forever homes for all adoptable animals. This project will call for support from community leaders and citizens from across the Wiregrass. Together, we will make the Wiregrass a better place for pets and people for generations to come.

Sincerely,
Bryan Applefield
